About Party Hat
Party Hat was founded by visual artist and curator Mary Anne Carter as a gallery dedicated to bold, accessible art. From its beginnings as a space for exhibitions and community gatherings, the project evolved to bring the gallery directly to clients; transforming events, corporate workshops, and private celebrations into immersive art experiences.
Mary Anne’s relationship with printmaking began early: she has been screen printing since she was nine. That lifelong practice informs everything Party Hat does. Live screen printing is central to the company’s approach because it’s more than a production method; it's an opportunity. At events, live printing lets Mary Anne and her team engage with guests, share the history and technique of the medium, and invite participants into the creative process. It’s a way to connect with new people, translate ideas into tactile objects, and make something beautiful in real time.
Today Party Hat combines Mary Anne’s curatorial sensibility and deep printmaking expertise to offer hands-on workshops, creative activations, and site-specific installations. The goal remains the same as the original gallery: to make art approachable, participatory, and memorable—whether on the gallery wall or in the hands of a guest walking away with a freshly printed poster or tee.
